The Ultimate Fresh Ginger Earl Grey Tea: A Bold, Citrusy Refreshment

If you’re a tea lover, you know that Earl Grey is a masterpiece in its own right. But when you combine the floral notes of bergamot with the spicy, warming kick of fresh ginger, you get a drink that is both comforting and revitalising.

At BOBA BUZZ, we believe the secret to the perfect brew lies in the maths. Today, we’re sharing our professional 1:100 brewing ratio to help you make a café-quality Fresh Ginger Earl Grey Black Tea

    The Ultimate Fruit Tea Foundation

Our 1:100 ratio is specifically engineered to create a light, aromatic Fruit Tea base.

When brewing a Fresh Ginger Earl Grey Fruit Tea, the 1:100 ratio concentration allows the citrus notes of the bergamot and the heat of the ginger to shine without the astringency that often comes from over-steeping. This creates a refreshing, "clean" palate that pairs perfectly with:

    • Fresh citrus slices (lemon, orange, or lime).

    • Fruit flavoured syrup

    • Honey or sweeteners.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

    • 5g Earl Grey Black Tea: (Loose leaf is best for full flavour extraction).

    • 500ml Water: Hot water at 85 - 95°C

    • 5g Fresh Ginger: Thinly sliced (You can always adjust the amount of ginger if you prepare more ginger flavour. Or you can even use the 2g of ground ginger instead).

    Step-by-Step Brewing Guide

    1. Prep the Ginger

Place your sliced ginger into your pot. For a deeper flavour, lightly muddle the slices to release the natural oils.

    2. The 1:100 Steep

Add your 5g of Earl Grey tea leaves. Pour 500ml of hot water over the leaves and ginger.

Pro Tip: Don’t use boiling water! Keeping it just under a boil (85 - 95°C) prevents the bergamot oil from becoming bitter.

    3. The Timer

Let the mixture steep for 10 - 15 minutes. Any longer, and the tannins in the black tea will take over.

    4. Strain and Serve

Strain the tea into the container and keep it aside for fruit tea preparation.
