Answer: This Pure Matcha Powder is culinary grade, as we use slightly more mature tea leaves to make matcha, resulting in a bolder, more robust flavour that stands up perfectly against milk in lattes or as an ingredient in baking and smoothies.
Answer: Matcha is highly sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen. To preserve its vibrant emerald green colour and delicate aroma, store it in an airtight, opaque tin in a cool, dark cupboard. For maximum longevity, many enthusiasts keep their Matcha in the fridge—just ensure the lid is sealed tightly to prevent the powder from absorbing any "fridgey" smells!
Answer: Because Matcha is stone-ground into an ultra-fine powder (often as fine as 5–10 microns), it naturally clumps due to static electricity. This is actually a hallmark of high quality! To achieve a smooth, frothy finish, we highly recommend pressing your Matcha through a fine-mesh sieve before adding your water or milk.
Answer: You should never use boiling water, as it will "scald" the delicate tea leaves and produce a bitter taste. The ideal temperature is approximately 80°C. If you don’t have a temperature-controlled kettle, simply let your boiled water sit for about two to three minutes before pouring it over the powder.
