The Lunar New Year is the biggest event in the Asian calendar, and in the UK, it has become a massive cultural celebration.
February 17, 2026, brings us the Year of the Horse.
The Horse represents energy, speed, and victory. But for bubble tea shop owners, the theme for 2026 should be "Attraction"—attracting new customers, attracting joy, and attracting wealth.
Forget generic discounts. This year, we are combining a comforting classic flavour with a viral in-store game to make your shop the talk of the town. Here is your blueprint for the "Attract Your Luck" campaign.

We recommend spotlighting Red Bean (Azuki) as your hero ingredient.
The Colour of Luck: In Chinese culture, Red is the ultimate symbol of protection and joy.
The Symbolism: Red beans symbolise "longing" and "love," but in the context of the New Year, they represent a sweet, prosperous life.
The Texture: The soft, grainy sweetness of red bean contrasts perfectly with the chewiness of tapioca pearls, offering a sophisticated mouthfeel.
This drink is designed to look premium and taste like a warm hug.
Ingredients you need (from Boba Buzz):
Tapioca Pearls (Black) 8.5mm: These represent "black gold" or wealth.
Red Bean Topping: The lucky red element.
Assam Black Tea or Matcha: For the base.
Cane Sugar Syrup: For depth of flavour.
The Build:
Bottom Layer: A generous scoop of slow-cooked Black Tapioca Pearls (The Foundation of Wealth).
Middle Layer: A layer of sweet Red Beans (The Layer of Luck).
Top: Pour in your rich milk tea base.
Presentation: If serving cold, the layers create a beautiful gradient. If serving hot (highly recommended for Feb!), the red bean melts slightly into the tea for a creamy texture.

How do you get Gen Z to tag your shop on TikTok and Instagram? You give them a game that is fun, visual, and suspenseful.
Since it is the Year of the Horse, we introduce the "Golden Horseshoe" Challenge.
The Prop: Buy a large Horseshoe Magnet (spray paint it Gold for extra effect!) and a glass bowl filled with colourful paper clips.
The Rule: Any customer who purchases the "Red Bean Prosperity" drink gets one chance to dip the magnet into the bowl.
The Reward: The weight or number of clips they "attract" determines their prize.
Tier 1 (1-10 clips): Better Luck Next Time! (Give a small fortune cookie or sticker).
Tier 2 (11-30 clips): Good Fortune! (Free Topping voucher for next visit).
Tier 3 (30+ clips): Massive Wealth! (20% Off the current order immediately).
Why this works: It creates a "theatre" in your shop. Other customers will stop to watch. Winners will cheer. It turns a transaction into a memorable experience.

The Year of the Horse is about speed. Supply chains get congested in January as shops across the UK rush to stock up for the festivities.
To run this campaign, you need to secure your core ingredients now.
Your Boba Buzz Checklist:
✅ Tapioca Pearls: Ensure you have the 8.5mm or 9.5mm in bulk.
✅ Milk Tea Powders: Stock up on Assam and Matcha.
✅ Cups & Lids: Presentation matters.
Start planning your "Attract Your Luck" campaign today, and let's make 2026 your most prosperous year yet.
